Meet the artist
Jenny Alves.
Twenty-five years of faces.

In her words
I'm Jenny Alves, founder of Cara Atelier and a beauty artist with more than twenty-five years of helping women look and feel like themselves.
I started in 2001, training with some of the industry's most respected luxury brands before moving into editorial, television, celebrity, bridal and private client work. I later joined the Bergdorf Goodman Salon in New York City, specializing in makeup artistry and precision eyebrow shaping — where I refined the belief I still work from: beauty begins with understanding the face.
For years I balanced private appointments across Westchester and Manhattan with editorial productions, television, fashion campaigns, weddings and events. Thousands of women, of every age, skin tone and background, gave me an eye for facial balance and individuality that no course teaches.
I don't believe beauty should follow trends. I believe it should reflect the person wearing it.
Brows became a signature because I approach them as a beauty artist rather than a technician. I read the whole face first, then create a soft, natural shape that lifts and opens the eye. The goal has never been identical brows — it's the right brows for you.
I'm also stubborn about education. In a world of endless products and shifting trends, I love helping women simplify, understand their own features, and invest only in what actually works for them. Beauty should feel empowering, not overwhelming.
That's what led to Cara Atelier. Cara means face in Portuguese — a reminder that every face is unique and deserves an individual approach. I wanted one welcoming place, overlooking the Hudson, where a woman could receive exceptional work, learn from decades of experience, and leave knowing more than when she arrived.
